Amanda, I get it. It’s ok.
My comment is more directed at how UW graduates behave, trained as they are by a university environment that is really six different universities called by one name. What Lazaridis & Co. fail to recognize is that it’s that attitude and approach - where money is directed towards research at all costs - that has hamstrung Blackberry. Ten years ago, Apple had no business being even in the same league as Blackberry. But because Apple places a premium on both technology and the arts (as Jobs put it, “Apple is at the intersection of the liberal arts and technology”), they’re kicking blackberry’s ass. And until there is a commitment to excellence in both technology and art (or user experience design, or whatever you want to call it), the bleeding won’t stop.
